Frequently Asked Questions
How does a virtual address work?
A virtual address gives you a real street address without the high costs of renting office space. You can use it for mail, business registration, and more—without needing to be there full-time.
Can I register my business with ASIC using this address?
Yes, you can! ASIC recognises this as a valid business address. Just enter your full address (e.g. 123/585 Little Collins Street) as your principal place of business and address for service of documents when registering or updating your ASIC details.
What’s the difference between the Premium and Regular plans?
Premium Plan:
- Includes free scan-to-email, free quarterly forwarding, and
- A more concise address like 12/585 Little Collins Street or 1/585 Little Collins Street
Regular Plan:
- Includes a physical mailbox you can collect from, with a three-digit number like 123/585 Little Collins Street
- You can add extra services like scanning or forwarding whenever you need them (fees apply)
Is a virtual address a real address?
Yes, absolutely. It’s a physical address in a real building where your mail is delivered. You can even walk in to collect your mail—it’s just not where your business operates day-to-day.
I want my business to look professional—not just like a mailbox.
Totally understandable. You’re welcome to format your address however you like, as long as it includes your allocated mailbox number. Here are a few examples:
✔️ Okay:
John Smith
Suite 123
585 Little Collins Street
Melbourne, VIC 3000
ABC Pty Ltd.
123/585 Little Collins Street
Melbourne, VIC 3000
✖️ Not okay:
John Smith
585 Little Collins Street
Melbourne, VIC 3000
This version leaves out your mailbox number and may cause confusion.
What happens if a customer shows up at the address?
If someone comes in asking for you, they’ll be greeted at reception. We’ll politely let them know you’re not in and ask if they have an appointment. If not, we offer to take a message and suggest they reach out via your listed contact details.
While we don’t encourage walk-ins, we understand it can happen—especially if your business appears on Google.
What if a system doesn’t recognise my virtual address?
Sometimes automated address systems (like those used by VicRoads or government departments) don’t sync well with our format. If that happens:
- Enter the address manually
- Avoid using the auto-fill or lookup feature
Example:
ABC Pty Ltd. ATTN: 123
585 Little Collins Street
Melbourne, VIC 3000
Is a PO Box better than a virtual address?
Not usually. A PO Box can’t be used to register with ASIC, and only Australia Post can deliver to it.
A virtual address gives you a full street address, looks more professional, and accepts parcels from all carriers.
Plus, with us, you get personalised service and someone real to talk to if you ever need help.
Can I get parcels delivered to my virtual address?
Yes! We accept and sign for all parcels from all carriers—at no extra charge.
You’ll receive an email when something arrives, and your parcel will be placed in a secure locker for 24/7 access (for up to 2 weeks). Please collect large items as soon as you can.
How can a virtual address help keep my personal details private?
If you work from home, a virtual address means you don’t have to share your home address on your website, Google, or business cards. It adds privacy and professionalism in one.
Who is a virtual address suitable for?
For businesses:
- A professional, real street address
- Keeps your home address private
- Use it to meet clients (meeting rooms available!)
For individuals:
- A secure place for mail and parcels
- Perfect for digital nomads or frequent travellers
- Avoid burdening family or friends while you’re away
Are there any extra fees for parcels?
Nope! Receiving parcels is included.
You’ll be notified by email and given locker access for 2 weeks. If uncollected, we hold your parcel in the mail room for another 2 months. You can either collect it or have it forwarded (forwarding fees apply).
What are the key and security pass deposits for?
If you plan to collect mail in person, you’ll need a mailbox key.
Want 24/7 access? We offer a security pass (fob or credit card style) so you can access your mailbox and the parcel lockers outside of our office hours. Both require a small, refundable deposit.
